INDIVO is a Northern California-based songwriting and recording duo. Melinda, with the clarity of her voice and Nick, a multi-instrumentalist and accomplished record producer, colors in the sound with complexity, authority and edge.
Melinda writes from inspiration. Nick's forte is in envisioning and capturing the full emotional dimensions of an artist and rendering a sonic panorama.
Indivo concentrates on exploring film and television outlets for their music while creating a series of videos for their songs. INDIVO intends to make an impact on multiple levels.
Nick has also released two albums "Dylan On Warhol" and "Gimme Love" as the artist "OLIVO".

"16 Tons" was written by Merle Travis in 1946 and released in July 1947 by Columbia on his album Folk Songs of The Hills. Tennessee Ernie Ford released it in 1955 as the B side to his cover of "You Don't Have to Be a Baby to Cry."

This song was in Merle Travis's album "Folk Song of the Hills" in 1947 - the same year Washington assaulted union workers with the Taft Heartly Act, because in 1946 was the closest the US ever came to a national strike. Millions of working people went on strike in 1946. Washington wanted to make sure that would never occur again.
